Boats, fences, trains, camps, the open sea, crowds of people in transit – these are the images of migration that dominate the media. Who makes these pictures and how do womxn appear in them? What do images reveal and tell differently once we collectively dismantle and reassemble them? Swoosh Lieu take a feminist look at the topic of migration: What sets womxn voluntarily or involuntarily in motion since generations and in different political contexts? Why do they cross borders, what are they fighting for?
Especially for the premises of Theater Rampe, the collective develops an installative variant of the performance. Based on a joint observation of images with womxn in motion, Swoosh Lieu invite the audience to sit at the montage table of motives, ask questions about the power of images and the privilege of the gaze.
In German and English language.
Duration of the installation: approx. 35 minutes
